The year 2020 was one for the books, and after a long but also short year, we can finally start a new chapter. As many of you start the new year with resolutions, the only new year resolution for sneakerheads is to have the most fly shoes of the year.
2020 was an interesting year for the sneaker industry; Nike closed the year by dropping their first-ever auto lace Jordan 11's, 25 years after the first sketches were made they finally updated the sneaker with its self-lacing tech. Reebok also made history this past year by collaborating with street fashion brand, A Bathing Ape. Wednesday, December 23rd, Reebok x A Bathing Ape released a limit amount of 200 pairs exclusively at their Miami BAPE Store, marking the first time the two brands have worked together on Reebok’s iconic model.
The sneaker collection continues to grow as brands announce stunning releases for 2021. Rumor has it that this is a big year for Nike’s Dunk Low and Dunk High, including an exclusive celebration for Black History Month. In addition to this, southern California rapper YG teased us on Instagram by giving us a closer look at his upcoming 4Hunnid “The Flame” sneakers. With bright colors and unoriginally patterns, this year sneakers are stepping out of their comfort zone with outrageous designs.
Set your reminders, and save cash because 2021 is screaming sneakers, if you don’t believe so, take a look at these seven sneakers releasing this year.
1. YEEZY BOOST 700 "Sun"
According to Py_Rates, YEEZY BOOST 700 "Sun" is set to drop on January 23rd with a lower retail price of $240 compared to the typical $300. Compared to previous Yeezys, “Sun” will be the first colorway to guide change. The latest model presents a vibrant color scheme of bright dark yellow, black, and turquoise. These colors are what give the sneaker the name of “Sun,” making them attractive to the human eye and perfect to give any outfit that missing pop.
As rumored, Yeezy Boost 700 “Sun” should be arriving later this month on January 23rd.
2. Nike Dunk Low BHM
Every year, the sneaker world never fails to honor the celebration of both The Chinese New Year and Black History Month. This year, Nike celebrates Black History Month by introducing “Nike Dunk Low BHM,” reported to release early this year. Visualized by @ph_community this sneaker consist of traditional prints, darks tones of black, purple, and tan. On top of the heritage print, the Swoosh appears to what looks to be suede texture. Tying the sneaker together with brown, tan, tread laces.
Currently rumored to arrive in February 2021.
3. Air Jordan 1 High OG “Paisley”
There’s no such thing as too many Jordans, every design, every color comes from an inspiration. Take a look at the upcoming Air Jordan 1 High OG “Paisley,” where the design was inspired by a paisley bandana. Rumored to release this Spring, the white, black, and blue Air Jordan gives an outstanding look to the brand. This hot shoe is sure to sell out so make sure to mark your calendar for Spring 2021.
4. New Balance M920
Orange is clearly the new black as New Balance leaks their new M920. Breaking out their creativity, New Balance gave us a surprise with their new color scheme of bright orange and green colorway. Others may argue this color is difficult to match with outfits, but it is just the perfect shade to match with a green dress or light wash jeans. Made in the Flimby factory, the entire collection will release January 15.
5. Nike Glow-In-The-Dark Air Foamposite One “2021 All-Star”
That’s exactly right, Glow-In-The-Dark Nike Air Foamposite! As we get closer to the 2021 All-Star Game, Nike lines up with their Glow-In-The-Dark Nike Air Foamposite One, dedicated to the game in Indiana. The typical upper shell is shown with a glossy black with a matching black midsole and glow-in-the-dark rubber. Retailing at $230 for a men’s pair or match with the little one as grade school pairs retail at $180. Unique from previous Air Foamposite, these sneakers will give any collection a glow.

6. BAPE x Adidas Superstars
It was a success when A Bathing Ape collaborated with Reebox; now take a look at the upcoming BAPE X Adidas Superstars. Expected to arrive in both White/Core Black-Off-White and White-Gold Metallic, both models bring out the shine in Superstars. Being their second time teaming up, BAPE and Adidas do it again with a spectacular sneaker. The three-striped logo hits differently in the colorway of gold and matte black. No need to wait long, this collection is soon to release.

7. Trophy Room x Air Jordan 1 High OG
What would Jordans be if it wasn’t for the legend himself Michael Jordan? Each Jordan sneaker comes with a background story, reminding us how Jordan dunk the court wearing similar shoes. This year Air Jordan takes us down memory lane of NBA’s legacy 1985 All-Star Game. Being a rookie at that time, Jordan created history by snatching the ball from great players like Isiah Thomas and Larry Bird. In memory of this moment, the Trophy Room x Air Jordan 1 was born.
Setting a luxury twist to the OG “Chicago” release, this sneaker features a white leather upper layer with a glittery red. That’s not the best part, the lateral heel is topped with Micheal Jordan’s signature. Keep an eye out on the release date as these sneakers are promised to sell out.
