It’s hard to believe that we have lived a year through this pandemic. What was first thought to be a few months ended up being a year and then some. Although some areas are slowly picking up, for others virtual is the new norm. From remote learning to working remotely to now a virtual studio.
Covid created a disconnection in real-time experiences to the creative and collaborative process of music-making. Seeing this disconnection, Real-Time Sessions came up with the brilliant idea of a Livestream virtual studio session series. These sessions connect dozens of musicians from across-the-globe allowing them to create music together in a cloud-based, digital audio workstation.
The virtual writing camp series Real-Time Sessions began by two young music professionals Johanna Pirila (Talent Manager) and Sarah Harrison (Media and Creator), they both dedicated their time to allow musicians across the globe to come together and continue their practice. With the unfortunate times of travel and taking advantage of the technology world, Real-Time Sessions created a solution in the music community to strained collaborations during quarantine. Connecting artists, writers, producers, and engineers from around the world during its debut Livestream event which kicked off March 1st, 2021.
Allowing musicians to come together and create music, these first-of-its-kind daily broadcasted sessions will lift talent by using a cloud-based, digital audio workstation via the platform Soundtrap by Spotify. Soundtrap is the first cloud-based recording platform for music and podcasts that works on all operating systems, assisting people to collaborate and record together wherever they are.
Similar to the IRL process, a producer could work on a beat while a musician plays their solo and a songwriter records their vocal, all being on the same canvas, wrapping up with built-in communication tools like video calling.
“This is the future of connecting music makers around the world in a remote recording studio experience; the virtual writing camp, live-streamed for the fans of this generation,” said Real-Time Sessions Co-Founder, Sarah Harrison.
Including artists, songwriters, producers, and instrumentalists from various backgrounds such as Edwin Arzu, 7Minutes2LA, Jamila Falak, and more. Real-Time Sessions proves that the future of the music community lies within the remote collaboration.
Catch the two-week-long Livestream on Instagram Live and Twitch TV from 4 pm EST daily!
