Alex Mali is the Caribbean-bred, Brooklyn artist who recently released her EP Phenom to rave reviews. Her most recent visual for her single“Fighting Words” perfectly matches Alex's vibe and brand giving strength and a soulful voice.

Female empowerment reigns supreme with her latest music video featuring a specific statement to correlate with her rhythmic afro-activist tune. The dope visual and sultry song surely fulfills the exponential music taste of this generation. “Women are more powerful than ever and we just got the first female VP to be of color,” Alex stated, adding, “Women have been challenged for years and our strength and ability to persevere is boundless. This song and video represent that strength. Being aggressive doesn't make you angry and being emotional doesn't make you crazy. So I am super excited for this one."

"Fighting Words" expresses her powerful take on hate speech geared toward women of color, surpassing many artists with such a message. The video depicts a group of confident Black women parading around wearing words used to describe our most bold attributes across their faces. The delivery was tastefully over the top as Alex shows how gracefully in touch she is with her sound and audience.
