In life, and especially during 2020, there is nothing more important than self-care. Honoring herself, Shia Douglas sought out to heal her mind, body + spirit and in the process found not only herself but beauty and lifestyle brand Wife of Creation.
Born Kenashia Douglas, the little sister of R&B singer Ashanti, Shia realized her maturation would forever be a continuous journey to becoming a better woman. Through studies and much inner work, she built the brand whose sole purpose is to be a positive and relatable lifestyle brand that celebrates the woman and her celestial space in the world.
"Wife of Creation is an oasis, a synergistic ecosystem to serve the development and nurturing of the mind Body, and Spirit," Douglas tells. Complete with various products that when combined create a new lifestyle, the consumer brand aims to grow with you as you grow further into yourself.
As it's a self-journey first, she studied first for herself. After discovering the myth of Sekhmet, she found herself at a point of rediscovery where she then came across "The Healing Prayer." From there, the phrase: “Mother of Youth and Healing, Wife of Creation, she’s who’s opportunity escapes her not. She who is powerful, who is wise and strong,” spoke volumes to her. Wife of Creation was to come into full fruition from this point forward.
After launching in late October 2020, Shia shared her plans, goals, and motives behind Wife Of Creation which is full of pureness and unity.
What was your core reason for creating Wife of Creation?
Your story shapes Your Purpose. I felt like as a woman it was my responsibility to share my experience and Also transmute the overall energy of my experience into something positive something others could benefit from, I was inspired to integrate the information I obtained along my healing journey into a wellness/maintenance lifestyle brand that has now become somewhat an extension of that journey.
What personal connection did you draw from your life to build this brand?
My life experience created my story which in turn created my purpose which is Wife of Creation. As an autodidactic in order for me to retain information, I have to teach it to someone else. So in beginning to understand who I am embarking on this healing journey transmuting that I was inspired to develop Wife of Creation.
What are your goals both personally and professionally?
At the moment my personal and career goals are aligned. This is a first. First and foremost, I'm looking for peace, harmony, balance, and to evolve and ascend in all areas of my life. To provide our resources and products within the communities that need in our own centers globally.
Describe your rituals or practices you do to ground yourself and the tactics that you've implemented in your business.
I wake up between 4:30 AM and 6 AM. I Meditate, journal, drink my brain, youth, and energy blend tea. Check my angel energy messages for the day. Light my candles, shower, and start the day. I’m still seeing my therapist weekly/bi-weekly which does wonders. I'm also following my nutritional guide provided by Wife of Creation's head herbalist. There’s also a meditation I’ve been doing lately with my partner called "The Mind to Heart Drop."
What aspect of your research do you utilize most in life and the foundation of Wife of Creation?
I've honestly applied and integrated my experience especially in the area of mental health continuing therapy, practicing meditation, the mind to heart drop, repeating my mantras Daily.
What’s one thing you would like for consumers and the world to say regarding Wife of Creation upon entering its space?
That its not just a holistic lifestyle brand but we're honorable and conscious. [that we're] Raising planetary consciousness [and] that we are inspiring.
What energy is expected from Wife of Creation? What would you like for the business to say about you and your endeavors?
That I care. I care about my community and where we stand as a collective. I'm not for self. I took my own pain and turned it into purpose. We're Providing resources and access to knowledge and information that if practiced can create a new reality and life.
In what ways do you hope Wife of Creation makes a change for Black women and those in the mental and spiritual health community?
I feel Wife of Creation will break the stigma that’s associated with mental health within our community. Reminding [Black women] of our innate divine energy.
